Because we are your down-to-earth kind of wedding planners with excellent listening skills, we give you everything you need and nothing that you don’t. We don’t subscribe to make-believe wedding laws, we empower our clients to do what they want and have fun while they do it!

One thing that sets us apart is that we are experts at defining and producing the small details that make up the bigger picture. It is our goal to make sure that we incorporate personalized touches that make each and every client’s wedding, their own.

Something you should know: being pushy isn’t our style, but we know how to get the job done and we know how to get it done right.

Meet Missy

Hi! I’m Missy Martz of Occasion Creation and I have been doing what I love for over 15 years. It’s quite possible I am more excited for your big day than you are! I love what I do and feel very lucky to be doing something that I am so passionate about.

A little about how I got here: I graduated from California University with a communication degree and a minor in marketing. Out of college, I worked as a marketing professional in the Life Sciences/Oncology world for several years. Among the many hats that I wore in that role, planning national and international tradeshows and events was my favorite. I loved planning and I loved working with people to create memorable experiences! So I took a leap of faith and started my own event planning company.

I love, love and I love planning events–I was made for this!

My other loves include: my husband, my 2 kids, our chocolate lab, diy projects, the great outdoors, music of all kinds, cooking without recipes, seasonal hand soaps and candles, traveling to new places, funny sayings on dish towels, and finding the joy in everyday life.

Thom Swenson

Event Manager

Thom is an elementary school teacher during the week and Occasion Creation’s day of superstar on the weekends. His cool and calm attitude are no match for whatever is thrown his way. He is a bundle of positive vibes, mixed with an uber amount of attention to detail…basically he is everything you want in an event manager!

Thom’s loves include: spending time with family and friends, his miniature Dalmatian–Auggie, a good book on the beach, running and staying in shape and the kids menu in any restaurant he dines in (he is a super picky eater!)
